Desde que se unió al programa Nike SB en 2009, Eric Koston ha dejado su impronta en varios modelos emblemáticos y exclusivos que reflejan su visión y su profundo vínculo con el legado de Nike. Fue clave en la adaptación y mejora de las legendarias Air Max 95 para el skateboard. El 30º aniversario de las AM95 fue la oportunidad perfecta para lanzar una versión personalizada de este icono, firmada por Koston. Estas Nike SB Air Max 95 nos llevan de vuelta a la época en la que Koston tenía carta blanca para diseñar sus propios modelos y recuperan los colores y detalles exclusivos que siempre han sido su sello personal.

Eric incorporó detalles personalizados con su nombre en el logotipo de la lengüeta y la plantilla de las AM95, así como un detalle único de Nike en la puntera: una inscripción en caracteres tailandeses como homenaje a sus raíces y un guiño a sus primeros diseños SB. Las Koston Air Max 95, que conservan las icónicas líneas inspiradas en un esqueleto del modelo original, incorporan mejoras específicas para el skateboarding: una parte superior de piel y ante, bordes doblados y refuerzo con doble puntada en las zonas de mayor desgaste para aumentar su durabilidad. Además, se ha reducido la espuma y se han rediseñado los tacos, que presentan un patrón de espiga para mejorar la sensación y la tracción sobre la tabla, manteniendo la estética y la funcionalidad de la unidad Max Air de las AM95 originales.

Since joining the Nike SB program in 2009, Eric Koston‘s insight and deep affinity for Nike heritage have left a lasting imprint on several SB staples and signature models. Instrumental in adapting and enhancing the legendary Air Max 95 for skateboarding, the AM95’s 30th anniversary was the perfect launching pad for a customised Koston iteration of an icon. Going back to the days when Koston was given the design keys to craft signature shoes, the Koston Nike SB Air Max 95 nostalgically returns to Eric’s go-to colour choices and signature details.

Adding Koston name-skate details to the AM95 tongue logo and sockliner, Eric requested a unique toe-tip Nike detail in Thai script to honour his heritage and serve as a callback to his early SB designs. Using the distinct skeletal-inspired lines of the OG, the Koston Air Max 95 features specific enhancements for skateboarding, including a leather and suede upper, folded edge, double-stitch reinforcement in key wear areas for durability, and reduced foam and updated lugs with herringbone tread for board feel and traction while maintaining the aesthetics and functionality of the original AM95 Max Air unit.
