Las Nike SB Air Max 95 se alejan de los materiales sintéticos de las originales para utilizar ante y piel, los materiales preferidos por la comunidad de skaters. También se han modificado las capas de refuerzo diseñadas para el running, por lo que las Nike SB Air Max 95 cuentan con una confección más ligera y materiales flexibles que permiten sentir la tabla y responden a las necesidades del skateboard. Aunque las originales son famosas por su altura, las Nike SB Air Max 95 tienen una suela interior nueva que acerca el pie a la tabla. Además, se han añadido tacos con diseño de espiga a la suela exterior para mejorar el agarre.
